Registration Information

We have a registration process in which we provide quality customer service in many ways. We have four sessions per year, which means you only register four times per year. We have a fall session, winter session, spring session and summer session.

At Potomac Swim School, for children who have taken a break for a few sessions or who are new to our swim program we require evaluations which are free of charge. We do an evaluation on each child in order to determine their class placement. We love meeting new families and seeing returning families face to face.

Potomac requires that you come in to register in person or while you are here for your class to do the appropriate paperwork. It allows us to see you and work with you face to face. We try our best to accommodate everyone’s schedule as best we can. Flexibility on your part is always appreciated. We have a priority registration process; it works as follows:

1. Current families to register for same day and same time
2. Current families who need to change their day and time
3. Alumni families can then register
4. Open registration for anyone begins

Registration is an ongoing process. The only time we actually close registration is when we only have four weeks left in a session. A child does not benefit from just four lessons. Children benefit from year round one day a week lessons in which attendance is consistent. Always try to stick with the same day and same time throughout the school year, just as your child does in regular school, the class will move up levels together. You will not have to rearrange your time every session until your child gets to the higher levels. We put a lot of work and effort into children and their class placement at the beginning of each session.

At Potomac we have approximately the following registration periods:

1. We begin registration in July for the fall session;
2. We begin registration in mid-October for the winter session;
3. We begin registration in February for the spring session;
4. We begin registration in May for the summer session.

Payment Policies

We are not a discount swim program. Due to our operational costs, payment is due in full at the time of registration. PSS does not give refunds, make-ups, credits or transfers from one session to another for any reason.  A $20.00 annual registration fee is due per child. Payment methods include American Express, Discover, Master Card, Visa and cash. We do not accept checks. We require that you purchase specific fins for our program that are used for certain drills and activities we do. We sell them for your convenience. We sell goggles as well, but they are optional.

We are in the process of researching many online registration programs and hope to have online registration for our current families in the future.
